ACV | FALL / WINTER 2012

Japanese label ACV have updated their Fall / Winter 2012 collection with an urban flair. Taking inspiration from how influential street style has became in Japan, ACV created the modern day silhouette. Loose clothing with heavy drapery was matched with more fitted and body-conscious pieces to create the new ideal.

The main appeal came from leather inserts, wide legged shorts and boxy tops and jackets for Fall / Winter 2012. Funnel necked jumpers were worn under matrix-esque leather trenches and paired with matching spray-on trousers, whereas the classic denim shirt was enlivened by thick leather sleeves and panelled detailing. The printed hoodies and use of the traditional NY Yanke cap added to the modern aesthetic when mixed with sublimated leopard prints. The graphic patterns didn’t stop at the animalistic, instead mixed with traditional pin-stripes and super cool geometrics in monochrome.

Accents of purple and blue could be seen in the form of cuff detailing and within the audaciously patterned tees, proving that the Japanese fashion industry really have brought sports-luxe to the forefront of design with ACV leading the way.
