ALEXANDER WANG | FALL / WINTER 2012

A strong sense of innovation and structural interpretation oozed from Alexander Wang  Fall / Winter 2012 collection. Wang’s pieces were given a 3-dimensional look through use of textured fabrics, including cross-hatches, corrugated surfaces or double quilted material.

Throughout the Alexander Wang Fall / Winter 2012 collection there was a sea of rigorously narrow raincoats and biker jackets, teamed with tailored trousers, slim mid-calf skirts, with a sexy centre split, and riding inspired knee-high leather boots. With a colour palette bursting with creams, taupe, black, cinnamon and plum, the options for Fall / Winter 2012 are staying true to the classic elements of a winter wardrobe.

Breaking away from any bond that may regulate a Wang collection, this was a breakthrough of maturity and distinctive structural form. What made the Alexander Wang collection inspiring and compelling was the effortless way in which Wang merged all the visible elements without conforming to any one specific narrative.

Once you absorb the repetitive, yet creative use of leather, netting, geometric prints and PVC, it is undeniable that the Alexander Wang Fall / Winter 2012 collection will be on our minds for seasons to come.
