ANASTASIA RADEVICH FOOTWEAR
Rebellious, absurdly enchanting and utterly fascinating; Anastasia Radevich’s shoes blur the lines between art and fashion.
Anastasia Radevich Footwear
Canadian born Anastasia Radevich graduated from The London College of Fashion before interning for Alexander McQueen and Nicholas Kirkwood. Her first collection of hand-finished shoes was launched in 2009 and launched her into the competitive footwear market.
Ultimately it’s the way that she puts her designs together that gives her shoes that inimitable style. With all eyes eagerly trained to spot a Jimmy Choo from a Christian Louboutin, it may seem there is no place for a newcomer. But Radevich’s designs are just as illustrious, managing to carve an incredible niche for herself depicting reality and fiction in a tough footwear market.
Radevich’s enigmatic choice of subject matter includes prehistoric and mechanical influences combined to create art for the feet. The ‘This Will Destroy You’ boots combine simple, if, dare we say it, boring black boots but transformed with ice-skating-esque heels spelling out ‘This Will Destroy You’ in silver glitter. Hardly the conventional shoe, but who said shoes should fit a norm?
The architectural pieces are designed for a new generation of women; women who are a strong free-spirit – both daring and self confident.
Perhaps that’s what it is with Anastasia Radevich. She doesn’t fit the usual fashion mould of a sleek-safe-Louboutin or the sexy-impractical-Choo. She is so much more than that, a shoe designer who truly designs – creating architectural pieces of art which happen to be in fashion.
