ARAKS | FALL / WINTER 2012
Since exploding onto the scene in 2000 with a lingerie line that was simple and sensual enough to capture the attention of Sarah Jessica Parker and Scarlett Johansson, Araks Yeramyan has blessed the fashion world with an array of ethereal yet masculine ready-to-wear collections.
The Araks Fall / Winter lookbook featured a neutral palette and the juxtaposition of sturdy and delicate fabrics illustrating Yeramyan’s adherence for both the serious and the whimsical. Models were draped in satin emerald turtleneck dresses, wool coats, light pleated maxi skirts and heavy capes. Satin trousers, platform patent leather booties and a fur stole were also seen. An ultra-femme satin red dress was seen alongside an outfit consisting of taupe wool trousers, and a black wool jacket striking the perfect balance between feminine and masculine.
While Yeramyan’s understated style does not demand attention it still ensures that it will not go unnoticed. Subtle, rugged and beautiful are the refreshing idiosyncrasies that separate Yeramyan’s latest collection from the avant garde style of other designers.
