ASHER LEVINE | FALL / WINTER 2012
Menswear designer Asher Levine showcased his fifth collection as a descent into the current socio-political society. Focussing on a futurist world, Levine focussed on a functional flair and military presence.
Asher Levine’s collections combine fantasy with added edge from New York influences. The designer is a true showman, not only developing beautiful clothing, but also creating shows where the runway is so much more than just the looks presented.
Each season the designer creates a different story, for Fall / Winter 2012 Levine showcased utilitarianism at its chicest. Khaki, navy, grey and black built up the workman’s wardrobe, with militant sensibility in functional materials such as wool, leather and fur.
For Fall / Winter 2012 the Asher Levine man is a half-human, half-creature post-apocalyptic hybrid. The sensibility of dynamic workman’s militant wear was matched with alligator and armadillo-esque accessories, including satchels and gloves.
This is possibly the most wearable collection to date, yet still creating craftsmanship and intuitive design through each look.
