ASHISH | SPRING / SUMMER 2012

Ashish is relatively new to the London Fashion Week scene. Having burst onto the runway in 2004 and winning the New Generation Award three times, designer Ashish Gupta’s eccentric and unique collections are still a favourite amongst fashion week goers.

One defining theme seen throughout the Ashish spring summer 2012 collection is florals. Large floral prints in an array of colours were prominent throughout the catwalk of shorts, tees, maxi skirts and jackets.

The eccentric feel to the collection is shown with Panama hats, pale blue jeans and black lipstick which all added to the boho-hobo feel that of course had a glamourous edge.

Loose fitting, relaxed tailoring and feminine cuts make for a glamourous collection with a stand-out look. The models’ hair was worn in loose plaits or waves and the make-up was minimal except for the bold black lipstick, worn by all models.

Although a mix of leopard print, florals, stripes and sequins sounds like it could be a catwalk mistake, Ashish’s collection is accomplished. His mix of luxurious fabrics, bold feminine florals and bold colours is exactly what a spring summer collection needs.

With a celebrity fanbase, who includes the always eccentric Paloma Faith, Ashish has found himself with an almost cult following and memorable, signature designs.
