CHAU HAR LEE
London based shoe designer, Lee is a 2002 graduate of Cordwainers College. She went on to study for a Masters degree at Royal College of Art. Awards won by the designer include the ITS8 Competition, Manolo Blahnik Competition RCA and the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN award for her Spring / Summer 2011 collection.
Chau Hau Lee’s work is distinctively handmade using stainless steel, wood, moulded leathers and acrylic.
Each shoe design is an exploration in structural form, with some having the option of being disassembled. In an October 2010 interview on JCreport.com, Lee quotes products, architecture and vehicle design as inspiration for her spring summer 2011 collection.
Her designs are functional structural pieces of art. Pairing explorative structure and functionality, Chau Har Lee’s handmade shoes are set to be iconic designs of their generation.
