CHRISTOPHER KANE | SPRING / SUMMER 2013 MENSWEAR
It seems that this year we have somehow missed out on the Great British summer we were all hoping for. However it’s time to move on and look forward for Summer 2013, as it is set to be full of colour according to Christopher Kane spring summer 2013 menswear.
At this years Paris Fashion week, Christopher Kane unveiled his spring summer 2013 menswear collection and the major influence was simplicity. ‘Boys wear simple pieces so I like to keep it real’, the designer told WWD. This view played out throughout the entire collection, keeping it current and wearable.
The main focus for this collection was to mix and match everyday, easy to wear garments- and with this, Christopher Kane also interjected an 80’s vibe into the menswear collection, with bold incorporation of colour.
Prints were a highlight throughout the collection with T-shirts, vests, sweaters, shirts, cardigans, shorts and jeans being all used as a blank canvas ready for thick paintbrush strokes to add colour. These paintbrush strokes were either used randomly all over or just as one big bold statement. Floral prints were also seen in the collection, proving that this classic print is evidently timeless.
Although some looks had various colours splashed all over, Christopher Kane cleverly managed to merge the colours together, creating great looks for spring summer 2013.
The 80’s vibe was heavily used in one menswear look, when speedos graced the collection adding bright, bold flashes of colour- perfect for the summer months.
The colour palette was fun and refreshing with a multitude of colours from green, blue, yellow, fushia, pink, teal, orange and grey, along with crimson and sepia floral prints.
The entire Christopher Kane spring summer 2013 menswear collection was sleek, clean and refreshing with some darker coloured looks- perfect to carry into fall.
