Studying futurist architecture from the 60s, Chromat‘s designer Becca McCharen pushes structural engineering for the body a little bit further.
Body con shapes were teamed with cage like corsets and overlays to create graphic silhouettes, enhancing curves whilst playing with proportion.
What’s interesting with Chromat’s creations is that although some of bolder designs encompass a majority of the upper body in a rigid fashion, the clothes don’t wear the person. Infact it seems that the human forms and geometric shapes have always gone together.
