LARS ANDERSSON | FALL / WINTER 2012
Staying true to his “Dark Urban Hippie” style, Lars Andersson once again produced a beautiful collection for Fall / Winter 2012.
The New York based Knitwear designer, originally from Sweden, sent his models down the catwalk with fish tail plaits and dark eye make-up, peering out beneath hooded jumpers and richly coloured knits. The swedes are big on their knitting and Andersson is no exception having knitted his first garment, a jumper for his toy monkey, by the time he was six years old.
After completing two years of fashion school in Sweden, Lars decided to make the move to New York to pursue his studies. However he was quickly entranced and submersed by its culture and stopped short of his degree, and began making one-of-a-kind jumpers for his friends. Not long after, his first collection was born.
His Fall / Winter 2012 collection showcased a great line of basics and outerwear, encapsulating a laid-back yet edgy essence to it. The slouchy garments provided a fluid structure, and although predominantly black, they were slightly broken up with flashes of crimson, navy and green.
The layering, draping and slouchy silhouettes, full of oversized knits and infinity scarves, made up for its dark colour palette – resulting in an effortlessly edgy collection.
