LEE X KRIS VAN ASSCHE | FALL / WINTER 2012
Presented for the first time at Paris Fashion Week, designer Kris Van Assche introduced his collaboration with Lee.
The collection sees the heritage world of the authentic denim brand meeting the sophisticated world of Kris Van Assche – a world where high fashion and masculinity are of the essence.
Using cotton twill to emphasise the work-wear aesthetic, Assche reinterprets the iconic Lee archive pieces, including the infamous denim jacket, jean shirt and workman’s chino trousers in a five-style collection. The pieces come in a two-colour palette of dark brown and work-wear blue, and are matched with tonal leather pieces with gun-metallic detailing and hidden stitching.
It works so well because it is simple; reworked cuts and styles showcase Assche’s masterful eye, while the general aesthetic show that denim never dies.
