MANMADE NATURAL | FALL / WINTER 2012
Inspired by the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures, Manmade Natural created a collection including technical and practical handcrafts from ever-evolving surroundings.
The ethereal designs combine the historic influences of Western dress with traditional Chinese artisans – an aesthetic Manmade Natural has came to accomplish. The designer states that ‘fashion is a kind of art’ constantly creating thought provoking pieces with the intention of displaying Chinese artistry.
The flowing and voluminous cuts combine multi-wash and print on exquisite and carefully selected fabrics, characterised by their conventionally Western shape. A completely monochromatic palette with hints of charcoal and creamy grey, is cut into soft leather biker jackets, puffa coats with diagonal hems and fastening detailing, and funnel necked jackets with asymmetrical zip detail.
Alongside the outerwear were leather biker trousers tucked into patent boots, rich fur scarves and the classic tailored blazer.
