Alexander McQueen diffusion line, McQ presented a Resort 2012 collection featuring pieces that were a riot of colour and experimental shapes.
The punchy colours adorned Bond girl-esque slim fitting scuba-style shift dresses or white wetsuit leggings with fluro piping, undone to reveal a traffic-stopping orange tank top or a tie-dye printed wetsuit tee.
McQ by Alexander McQueen’s playful, curve hugging outfits consisted of 60s-style prints on body-con shift dresses and white and blue leggings with zips galore and piping to slim line the physique.
Other stand out pieces from McQ’S 2012 Resort collection included an all neon pink outfit, featuring a slim fit tank dress with matching strappy shoes, clutch and watch, and a bright blue halter dress with a black leather belt and zip detailing.
The Ibiza style layered dress with a blue, pink and yellow water ripple pattern was one of the looser fit pieces, but the McQ by Alexander McQueen collection mainly consisted of scuba-inspired minidresses and neoprene bodysuits, all served up with splashes of show stopping bright colours.
More neutral coloured pieces, such as the cream biker style jumpsuit, were cleverly dissected by brightly coloured zippers and piping and fluro pink accents making the collection pop.
As well as fully embracing the scuba trend, Resort 2012 is also the first collection where McQ has released handbags, sure to set excitement among the masses. The bright bags in an array of materials — denim, leather and neoprene all show up – are bedecked with rock chic zips, buckles and studs.
McQueen’s Burton has also played with geometric shapes, seen in the strapless black scuba dress with pink detailing and pointed pockets, and the v-neck navy playsuit with a bright pink corset belt and capped shoulders.
The lower-priced line has taken a fun, playful surfer-inspired turn, with body-conscious cool and sleek feminine minidresses and jumpsuits and eye-popping details like bright corset belts and leather harness detailing, creating a fun, sexy, eye-catching McQ by Alexander McQueen Resort collection.
