MOONSPOON SALOON | FALL / WINTER 2011
The crafty creativity of Moonspoon Saloon has taken one giant step for mankind and another giant leap for fashion as they showcased their Fall / Winter 2011 collection at the Copenhagen Fashion Week.
But who are the creative minds behind Moonspoon? They are no inexperienced, inartistic designers, but quite the opposite. They are a creative commune made up of artists from the business of photography, styling, art and design. All of this, rolled into one has made them a collective fashion force to be dealt with.
The inspiration behind the Fall / Winter collection was a collaboration of crazy, wonderful and fanatical fashion. Chewing gum, lava stone, body without body, Rodchenko, aliens, superior beings, roller balls, lonely ice skaters and surreal cheerleaders were all incorporated within the fabric of the velvet and neon coloured prints that were presented through bondage style dresses, pleated skirts and matching sets of oversized jumpers.
The bright coloured spray painted dripping platforms, motionless masks, tinfoil ruffles and fur coat with striking neon stripes, all sound odd when included together, but when mixed in with the Moonspoon magic it somehow becomes acceptable.
The heavy artistic pieces made even the predictable minds imagine the unimaginable. Curious creativity has brought Moonspoon an individual identity, with subtler versions eventually filtering down to the high street making it become possible for everyone to experience Moonspoon Saloon.
