NARCISO RODRIGUEZ | FALL / WINTER 2012
Narciso Rodriguez has created a collection which celebrates the female form; refreshingly pared down and in a palette of decidedly autumnal hues.
A clear evolution from the Spring / Summer 2012 collection, Rodriguez once again employed a mix-and-match approach to silk, jersey and wool to create visual and textual interest. Foregoing bold lines and striking prints, Rodriguez approached the collection from a more ladylike perspective, using soft layering and complementary panelling to create elegantly draped dresses. The delicately balanced fabrics, carefully placed splits and flattering hemlines gave the garments an impeccable fluidity of movement, demonstrating Rodriguez’s brilliant knowledge of the lines of the female body.
Arms were consistently left bare, emphasizing the importance of jackets, coats and cover-ups for next winter. Rodriguez had these covered, with knee-length, button down coats in grey, maroon and brown wool. Alternatively, choose from thigh or hip length jackets in silver and black fur. Collarless and left loosely hung open to reveal crisp white t-shirts spattered with a graphic windmill print (the only in the collection), they perfectly complemented the designers simple yet luxurious aesthetic.
