OPENING CEREMONY 10TH ANNIVERSARY BOOK

Opening Ceremony have chosen a unique way to commemorate 10 years since opening the doors of their eponymous label. Teaming up with Rizzoli publishing, Opening Ceremony celebrate a decade in the business with an exclusive 10th anniversary book. From the first business plans written on a napkin, to archive imagery of past catwalk shows and collections, the book documents every step to becoming the label we now know.

It’s hard to believe that it was 10 years ago that Carol and Humberto quit their jobs and drew out their savings to open a little shop in Soho. Opening Ceremony is now an accomplished retail environment, compromising shops, a showroom and a private label combining emerging American talent, with both young and established designers from other countries.

Friends of the label include M.I.A, Alexander Wang, Chloë Sevigny and Terry Richardson, who have contributed to the book helping to commemorate the labels past. Richardson showcased a collection of portraits created especially for the fashion reportage, whereas Spike and Chloë contributed their own ‘zine inserts.

The book is due for release on 4th September and promises to be a great read for fashion historians, or young designers hoping to launch their own collection.
