Raffaele Ascione Spring/Summer 2013

Raffaele Ascione Spring/Summer 2013

Debuting his second collection for London Fashion Week, Raffaele Ascione caused quite a stir at Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s Freemasons’ Hall. A lively and refreshing soundtrack brought the runway to life and injected a dose of energy into the crowd.

Ascione’s Spring/Summer offerings were surprisingly inspired by Fruit of the Loom T-shirts and proved to be a unwavering springboard for an imaginative collection. There was a sense of fun about Ascione’s separates, which were set in a cool pastel palette of peach, lemon, mint and dusty pink. Cute crop tops and playful hemlines worked well with billowing sleeves and high necks.

Quilting and lace were teamed with pleating and topped off with towering platform shoes from Claire Davis. The collection saw a bountiful mix of clean A-line shapes and intricate detailing. Ascione has proved himself a fast-rising star in the fashion world, combining fluid shapes and flattering volume to create an altogether feminine and sophisticated aesthetic.

It’s no surprise that his pieces have been worn by the likes of Jessie J and Lady Gaga. Citing overall inspiration from his own life, friends and family this budding star is a breath of fresh air – we’re expecting big things from Ascione in the seasons to come.
