SAMUEL MERCURE | FALL / WINTER 2012
Canadian menswear designer Samuel Mercure, stuck to his usual aesthetic this Fall / Winter with a refined, raw and enigmatic collection.
Renowned for blurring the lines between art and fashion, Mercure incorporated his background in visual arts with his stylistic craft. His distinctive style is defined by new concepts and developmental techniques seen in a palette of varying shades of black and grey.
Straight cuts alternated between provocative silhouettes and smooth structured materials, with added richness through texture. Leather, wool and cotton added a different dimension to the otherwise streamline and sombre collection, but still managed to retain the Mercure aesthetic.
Mercure proves that fashion is a form of art; scrupulously worked upon to create visually stimulating pieces with emphasis on the perfect silhouette.
