SISE | FALL / WINTER 2012

At this year’s 14th edition of Tokyo Fashion Week, Seishin Matsui unveiled his Fall / Winter 2012 menswear collection, proving that no one else does minimalist design better than Japanese designers.

Cuts and styles in the collection were casual, yet Matsui managed to add a hint of street wear with subtle tailored sophistication, making the collection current, on-trend and most importantly, wearable.

The colour palette radiated calm, chic and modern, with varied monochromatic tones of grey, black and white. The catwalk was over-run by silhouettes dressed in lose fitted shorts and trousers, accompanied with casual white low round-neck t-shirts and tailored jackets. One model wore a fitted leather jacket while others bore white shirts, which unquestionably strengthened the modern sophisticated look.

Oversized snoods were a common occurrence in the collection; as were tracksuits with lose designed necks, which perfectly combined street wear with sophistication.

The overall collection was based on the concept of being surrounded by various senses such as the sounds and echoes we hear and the atmosphere, encircling ‘boyishness.’
