VANISHING ELEPHANT | FALL / WINTER 2012
Australian menswear label, Vanishing Elephant, have garnered a huge international following since their initial launch in 2009. The Sydney-based brand, designed by Felix Chan, Huw Bennett and Arran Russell, has a singular vision to create clothing that concentrates on quality and originality.
For Fall / Winter 2012 tailoring creeps into the otherwise contemporary collection, offering simple two-button blazers brandished with the brands trademark casual aesthetic. The sartorial suit was teamed with a variety of casual striped t-shirts and rugby jerseys, endeavouring to create the perfect mix of smart and casual.
There were also a variety of button-up shirts with subtle monogrammed prints to create a more traditional appeal when pared with the suit. Soft flannels and sturdy corduroys were used in a traditional palette of navy, charcoal, burgundy and black. Cotton chinos finished most looks and continued the meeting of smart and casual.
The Vanishing Elephant man has found his own identity this season – a mature, gentlemanly style with a patently modern twist.
