Australian design duo Jeremy J Somers and Indhra Chagoury launched their swimwear label We are Handsome in 2009. The collection was set to create individual pieces which embodied the designers mutual love of beautiful things with the appreciation of the female form.

Their desire is to create perfection through 100% Australian design – from the inspiration to the hand-sewn detailing. The exquisite colour palette and delicate shape are as a result of Chagoury’s halcyonic, sun drenched childhood in Queensland, whereas the bold outlandish landscape prints come from Somers’ upbringing in the ‘Big Bad Smoke’.

The 2012 collection, The Romantic, sees vintage inspired bandeaus, cut-out detailing on strappy swimsuits, and bustiers matched with high-waisted pants. Inspired by heady adventurism of the 70s, 80s and 90s, the prints were bold and bright with the addition of florals, aviation patterns and tropical prints.
