WOOD WOOD | SPRING / SUMMER 2013
Following suit from their Fall / Winter 2012 collection, ‘The Kingdom’, came Wood Wood’s Spring / Summer 2013 line; hitting the runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Effortlessly combining work and leisurewear Wood Wood set the pace for Spring / Summer 2013.
A cool palette of rich chocolates, metallic chartreuse, rusty gold, creamy white and a devilishly dark burgundy, made up Wood Wood’s Spring / Summer 2013 line. Wood Wood satisfied our hunger for denim with a washed-out floral print jacket and matching knee-grazing skirt for women and a patchwork blue, grey and dark denim jacket paired with boot-cut jeans for the boys. There was leather too, with a signature black leather jacket serving as a collection staple for both the Wood Wood man and woman.
Chukka boots were a big hit for men and came in a soft blue suede throughout the Spring / Summer 2013 collection. While Chelsea boots were a firm favourite in the womenswear collection; standout pairs included a wild leopard print and a stark all-over white. An emphasis on luggage found its way neatly into almost every look in the Wood Wood Spring / Summer 2013 collection. From suitcases, bum bags, laptop cases, rucksacks, totes and clutches the collection was brimming with practical style.
A deep moss green varsity jacket with contrasting silvery grey sleeves and emblazoned with the Wood Wood brand logo stood out as a nod to the sporty vibe which has ebbed and flowed throughout the last few seasons. Elsewhere, kaleidoscope detailing, leopard print and digital floral designs paid tribute to tropical and ethnic influences.
Layering was key to the Wood Wood Spring / Summer 2013 collection, with long overcoats, blazers and suit jackets finishing off almost every look. Separates took the lead, with an eye-catching geometric print A-line skirt and matching brassiere top finished off with a black crushed velvet cloak coat stealing show, when it came to womenswear.
