Balenciaga Fall / Winter 2013.

As the fashion world waits with bated breath for designer Alexander Wang to take the helm of Balenciaga, its pre-fall 2013 collection according to WWD was imagined by the in-house design team.

Dramatic, exciting and unexpected – words that equally describe the events that preceded the Balenciaga runway show this morning, as well as the Spring / Summer collection itself. With four front row benches collapsing moments before the show’s opening, an excitement filled the room as Nicolas Ghesquiere’s sculptural with a dash of sci-fi collection paid tribute to Balenciaga’s founder, whilst simultaneously demonstrating an avant-garde, forward thinking vision.

Under the direction of Nicolas Ghesquiere, the Resort 2012 collection had a chic, sport luxe edge, with effortless tailoring.
