60s, 80s and 90s x Lady Miss Kier = Mugler Pre-Fall 2013.

Keeping in line with Mugler’s Spring Summer 2013, Nicola Fomichetti’s soon to be released bags follow the same futuristic feel.

Tailored body-con jackets with attached bonnets (not dissimilar to bike helmets) started the show, matched with restrictive pencil skirts and long white coats. The coats boasted stiff white belts, reminiscent of oriental jackets with exaggerated shoulders and not a pleat or crease in sight.

In the world of menswear it is the season of the suit. Mugler showcased a fitting collection of suiting separates, incorporating the uniformed two-piece and tuxedo.

When Lady Gaga paraded on stage as the ‘unconventional bride’ for Thierry Mugler’s Fall / Winter 2011 collection at Paris Fashion Week the audience were aghast. Was it the skin-tight corseted white ensemble? The show-stopping saucer hat? The fact that it was five time Grammy award-winner Lady Gaga? No, it was those platforms.
