Eerie crystal-encrusted eels and serpents twist around necks and waists in the form of chunky collar necklaces and heavily jewelled belts.

Born in France in 1987 Charlie Le Mindu began his career as a hairstylist aged thirteen, training at the French Hair Academy after which he became the resident hairdresser at Berlin clubs such as White Trash, RIO and Barbie Deinhoffs performing ‘live cuts’.

Reem Alasadi is a woman of firsts. The first non-Japanese designer asked to show in Tokyo Fashion Week and the first designer to combine both Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter into one season (which she did for her 2010 collection, Bubble and Squeak), Alasadi effortlessly seems to break boundaries.

Take a quick glance at fashion designer Romina Karamanea’s A/W 2010/11 collection and you’d be forgiven for thinking that it’s something of a gloomy affair. The collection is, after all, made up entirely of black pieces. But as a master of clever pattern-cutting (quite literally – having gained her MA in it from Central Saint Martin’s) there is of course more to Karamanea’s raven-hued designs than first meets the eye.

Clare Lopeman is a British fashion designer based in Moscow whose aesthetic is defined by her background melding with her present, as her new surroundings lead her down a path a little less travelled.

Graduating with a BA from Edinburgh College of Art and Design, Holly Fulton took some time abroad working as an antique jeweller and in embroidery and womenswear for Queen and Belle before returning to complete a MA in at the Royal College of Art. Post MA she spent some time at Lanvin and freelanced for Swarovski before taking the plunge and applying for Fashion East which welcomed her with open arms. Last season she made the leap to NewGen where she shall remain for S/S 2011.

American-born menswear designer Tim Hamilton cut his teeth at J. Crew and Ralph Lauren before starting his own label, so one might be forgiven for expecting season upon season of slick, preppy Americana. A move to Paris, however, has focussed and strengthened Hamilton’s predilection for transcending and rethinking classic American tailoring and sportswear, resulting in his most cosmopolitan collection to date for the Autumn/Winter 2010/11 season.
