Mouret began his career after just three months training at a Parisian fashion college in 1979. His celebrity clients include Victoria Beckham and Heidi Klum amongst others. In 2005 the now iconic Galaxy dress brought him worldwide success as part of the Roland Mouret Design Group. The designer left in 2007 to establish the RM fashion group with business partner Simon Fuller.

Jeanne Lanvin worked for a milliner until she had her first child when she started designing and making clothes for her daughter’s dolls and then for her daughter. Soon she began selling clothes to the milliner’s clients and her label has rapidly expanded since then.

Following Balmain’s death in 1982 the house has been led by many over the years, this one being no different. In April this year it was announced that after five years Christophe Decarnin, who has given the label a more contemporary and edgier clientele, would no longer be with the company. Give way to Olivier Rousteing, the new Creative Director of Balmain.
